Our Programs

Program Description

Beginning in March of 2020, throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts the pandemic brought upon a new normal – The rest of 2020 and into 2021, public and private school children were faced with challenges both physically and emotionally with many school buildings and other community center facilities closed to after-school and out-of-school programs and No Books No Ball was forced to take a pause.

However, in the Spring of 2021, the No Books No Ball team began to imagine an outdoor summer league and decided to pivot and restructure the program.

Program Location:

The summer basketball program operates utilizing ALL THREE courts at the Fully renovated Michael L. Bivins Basketball Courts located at Ramsey Park, 1917 Washington Street in the South End/Lower Roxbury section of Boston.

ABOUT
NO BOOKS NO BALL

The No Books No Ball (NBNB) Basketball Program is committed to increasing the high school graduation rate of at risk children and others within the communities that we serve. We believe that all students are capable of academic success and we seek to use basketball as a means to achieve that end. By linking athletic prowess with academic eligibility we want to encourage our student athletes to graduate from high school. Our longer term objective is to encourage our student athletes to attend college.
